【摘要】:ThisdocumentisoneofseveraldocumentscontainingtheImplementationSpecificationofEuropay'sOpenTerminalArchitecture.OthervolumesinthisseriesspecifytheForthandClanguageprogramminginterfaces,aswellastheEMVapplicationlibraryandtheTerminalKernelTestProgram(seerelatedpublications).TheoverallarchitectureoftheOpenTerminalArchitectureisdescribedinAppendixF,"Sys-temArchitecture,"andisbasedonaVirtualMachine(VM)thatcanbeprogrammedusinghigh-levellanguagessuchasForthorC.ForcompactnessandefficiencyatokenisedformhasbeendevelopedfordeliveringcompiledprogramstoterminalsofallCPUtypes.ThisandotherVirtualMachinerelatedissuesareexplainedinSection3.ThisInternationalStandarddescribesasetoffunctionstobeimplementedinterminalsintermsofinstructionsforaVirtualMachine.Withthesefunctionstheapplicationprogrammerisabletogenerateapplicationsoftwarethatiscompact,portableandcertifiableonallOTAterminals.Theinclusionofafunctionisdeterminedbythreemaincriteria:·corecompactness,·executionspeed,·securityrequirements.ThisInternationalStandardprovidesthespecificationsforthestandardOTAkernelinseverallayers:·definitionoftheVirtualMachine(VM)(Section3);·descriptionoftheservicesprovidedbytheVMtoterminalprogrammers(Section4);·specificationofasetoftokensrepresentingthenativemachinelanguageoftheVM(Sec-tion5);·specificationoftheformatinwhichtokenmodulesaredeliveredtoanOTAkernelforprocessing(Section6).
