【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesameansfordeterminingtheabilityofmortarsandplasterstoretainwaterundersuction.Testresultsmaybeusedtodeterminecompliancewithspecifications.Theresultsobtainedusingthistestmethodcanbeusedtocomparetherelativeabilityofmortarsandplasterstoretainwaterundersuction.Theresultsobtainedusingthistestmethodformasonrymortarsdonotnecessarilyindicatethedegreeofwaterretentionwhenusedwithmasonryunits,sincetheamountofwaterabsorbedbytheunitdependsontherateofabsorptionofthemasonryunit.Theresultsobtainedusingthistestmethodforplasters(stucco)donotnecessarilyindicatethedegreeofwaterretentionwhentheplasterisappliedasasecondcoatonthesurfaceofapreviouslyappliedplasterbasecoat,sincetheamountofwaterabsorbedfromthesecondcoatofplasterdependsontherateofabsorptionofthebasecoat.Thisisalsotruewhenaplasterisappliedasacoatingonmasonryunits.1.1Thistestmethodprovidesforthedeterminationofwaterretentionofhydrauliccement-basedmortarsandplasters.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.(Warningx2014;Freshhydrauliccementitiousmixturesarecausticandmaycausechemicalburnstoskinandtissueuponprolongedexposure.)
